An officer was shot at a Lower East Side apartment building after attempting to execute an arrest warrant.
LOWER EAST SIDE (WABC) — An armed suspect fired shots at police officers, striking an officer as NYPD attempted to execute a search warrant inside a Lower East Side apartment building.
The officer has non-lifethreatening injuries and is being taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
The man fired three rounds in the direction of the officers on Madison Street just before 5:10 a.m.
He is now barricaded and refusing to come out of his apartment.
No arrests have been made
It is unknown what the suspect is wanted for.
