Valentine’s Day is coming, so I thought I’d share a simple and fun breakfast idea—Heart-Shaped Egg in a Hole!
This egg toast recipe is a favorite in our house. We love it so much that we even make it for dinner sometimes.
If you’ve never tried it, you’re in for a treat—quick, delicious, and guaranteed to make someone smile.
But let’s be honest, this isn’t just for Valentine’s Day—it’s a sweet way to say “I love you” any day of the year.

Instructions
Start with a piece of bread and cut a hole in the center using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Butter both sides of the bread.
Place a skillet on medium heat and melt ¼ TBSP butter.
Lay the bread in the pan and crack a large egg in the hole.
Sprinkle with salt and black pepper and cook for about 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Flip the egg in a hole and season with salt and pepper.
Cook another 2 – 3 minutes for an over-easy egg or slightly longer for a medium egg.
Don’t forget to toast the heart-shaped bread!

Lay bread on the griddle or frying pan and crack an egg in the hole. Season with salt and pepper and cook for about 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Cook another 2 – 3 minutes for a runny yolk, or slightly longer for a set egg.
